Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Skigen manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Skigen practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from cosmetic facial surgery to corrective jaw surgery and wisdom tooth removal. He can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and TMJ disorders, and performs a full range of dental implant procedures.
Dr. Skigen's staff is trained in assisting with I.V. sedation within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. In addition, general anesthesia provided by a board certified anesthesiologist is available within our facility.
The surgical staff is made up of memebers who are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of I.V. sedation and surgery. All staff is informed administrative personnel, well versed in health and insurance policies and are CPR and ACLS certified.
